There is no official GameFAQs app, and we do not support nor have any contact with the makers of these unofficial apps. Continued use of these apps may cause your IP to be blocked indefinitely. This triggers our anti-spambot measures, which are designed to stop automated systems from flooding the site with traffic. Some unofficial phone apps appear to be using GameFAQs as a back-end, but they do not behave like a real web browser does.Using GameFAQs regularly with these browsers can cause temporary and even permanent IP blocks due to these additional requests. If you are using the Brave browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse, then send that data back to a third party, essentially spying on your browsing habits. We strongly recommend you stop using this browser until this problem is corrected. The latest version of the Opera browser sends multiple invalid requests to our servers for every page you visit. The most common causes of this issue are: Otherwise get the Galaga 88 countercade for the same price with the entire series, the new screen, and the game options capabilities if you want any of the games for your collection.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. The certificate is hollow and worthless to everyone else. I would only purchase it if you want Galaga and Galpus with the limited edition Galaga 40th Livery. Is it worth it if you already own Galaga elsewhere? Absolutely not. You can finally reset high scores as well.I have not played Galpus or Galaga 88 to compare the 2nd offerings on each counter cade to give you my thoughts on the additional game included with each. I tried the game on the hardest difficulty and the difference is immediately apparent. You are able to adjust settings such as difficulty, amount of lives, and the point interval at which bonus lives are awarded. The biggest difference is the game itself. It is the same screen as in my Marvel Superheroes countercade that I also recently purchased. Compare it to the 2nd gen Pacman straight on and the 2nd gen Galaga from a 45 degree angle. The image is nice and bright, easy to see in daytime, and does not fade as bad as the older countercades. Outside of my 2nd gen having about 10 more months of use, the buttons are identical in feel.Ī major difference that anyone will immediately notice is the screen. The joystick is 8 positions compared to the 2nd gen’s left and right only. I probably prefer the 40th's layout more. The buttons are a little higher on the 2nd gen. There are some slight scaling variations on the control deck artwork that you can see above. Outside of most of the cabinet artwork being the same and the awesome green trim with 40th Anniversary livery, the details are mostly the same with the 2nd gen. I was hoping for a number that I could correlate to something in my life but the odds of that are eh. Just 2 pieces of styrofoam, the power adapter, the unit, instructions, and the COA placed in an opaque envelope. The countercade ships in a brown cardboard box which also serves as its box. The item arrived in about a week from when I ordered it. If I had to do it all over again, I probably would’ve still bought both just because I’m a completionist. I said the hell with it and was able to get the 88 for the same price after using the same $15 off coupon. I tried to cancel the 40th but wasn’t able to. Immediately after I ordered, I noticed the Galaga 88 countercade for sale. I went ahead and bought it when I found out there was a $15 off code. I am a sucker for flashy green colors, repaints, and limited edition items. I wasn’t planning on buying another dedicated Galaga countercade until I saw the 40th anniversary on QVC. The countercades fit well in my office and allow me to take a nice break from work (I work remotely). Pacman countercade earlier this year and we go back and forth on high scores. I have fond memories of my father setting high scores at the local movie theater or in the casino arcades during summer vacation. I love Galaga and have always had a fun time playing it. The Pacman was a Christmas gift last year and I got the Galaga earlier this year when Walmart had them marked down. First, as you can see, I already own a Pacman (features Galaga) and 2nd Gen Galaga.
